Why Facial Steaming Needs to be On Your Weekly To-do-list
DIY facial steaming is an effective and non-expensive facial treatment everyone can do at home for healthier looking skin. Facial steaming helps in nourishing and cleansing the skin. To do facial steaming one would need a steamer, but if it’s pure DIY you need a pot to boil the water and a steaming bowl along with a towel.
Here are some easy steps to steaming your face at home:
Step 1: Fill up a small pot with water and boil the water.
Step 2: While the water is still boiling, wash your face.
Step 3: When the steaming water is ready, pour the water into the bowl.
Step 4: This is optional, but you can add essential oils such as eucalyptus oil or tea tree oil onto the steaming hot water bowl.
Step 5: Begin to steam your face. Place your face 6cm close to the steaming water,
while placing a towel over your head to make sure the steam is effective. This should be done for about 10 min, and no more than 10 min.
Step 6: Gently dry your face.
Step 7: Apply a facial toner.
Step 8: Wait for the facial toner to set (Approx. 2 min).
Step 9: Lastly, Moisturize your face.
